BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY
Bernadette Rodak (Bunny)

Bernadette Rodak (Bunny) has over 30 years experience in Clinical Laboratory Science with over 20 in education. She has worked in several states, including Maryland, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alaska, Delaware and Indiana. She is the editor of Hematology Clinical Principles and Applications (3rd edition published 2007) and co-author of Clinical Hematology Atlas,(3rd edition coming in 2008) as well as a contributor to several other texts. She is the clinical practice editor for Clinical Laboratory Science, the journal of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.

 

Professor Rodak has many presentations in Hematology at the state, national and international level. Currently she teaches Hematology, Urinalysis and Topics in CLS in the Indiana University/Clarian Health CLS program in Indianapolis.

BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY
Susan Higgins

Susan Higgins received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology in 1969 from Michigan State University.  In 1996, she received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Michigan State University.  She was Clinical Coordinator in two MLT programs, in Michigan and at IUN in Indiana.  She is currently the Program Director for the Clinical Laboratory Science programs (MLT and PBT) at IUN, where she teaches some of the professional courses for the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.

Professionally, Susan has worked as Medical Technologist since 1970, at various hospital laboratories, with 20 years at the Saginaw Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan, with responsibilities ranging from bench technologist to management.  She obtained her Specialist in Chemistry certification in 1983 and her Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification in 1984.

Barbara Hawkins has been a clinical laboratory scientist since 1982. She is also registered as a specialist in chemistry.

Barbara has a Master's degree in Health Occupations Education, which is
what led her to her current position as instructor of health careers at
Hoosier Hills Career Center, Monroe County Community School
Corporation.

Barbara has a patient husband and two great daughters. She is also employed in
the laboratory at Bedford Regional Medical Center. She works a few PRN
hours each month so that she can stay somewhat current and visit her lab
friends.
