ASCLS-Indiana Scholarships

 

The Indiana Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS-Indiana) has five scholarships available each year. The ASCLS-Indiana Scholarship is available for any (CLS/MT – Student) who meets eligibility requirements, or, any (CLT/MLT – Student ) also meeting eligibility requirements. The ASCLS-Indiana Scholarship is $500.00

 

ASCLS-Indiana Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

 

A CLS/MT Student or a CLT/MLT Student currently enrolled and their clinical year, in an approved program in the State of Indiana . The student must show proof of Academic Achievement and/or Financial need and must have a minimum GPA of (2.7) based on a 4.0 scale, or, (4.7) based on a 6.0 scale.

 

ASCLS-Indiana also administers four Central Indiana Clinical Biochemistry Forum (CICBF) scholarships each year. Three of the CICBF scholarships are available for (CLS/MT – Students ) and one for a (CLT/MLT – Student ) who meet the CICBF eligibility requirements. The CICBF Scholarships are $500.00 each

 

The Central Indiana Clinical Biochemistry Forum Scholarship Program

 

DESCRIPTION

 

The Central Indiana Clinical Biochemistry Forum was established in 1972 to provide periodic continuing education opportunities for Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists. The Central Indiana Clinical Biochemistry Forum (CICBF) Scholarship Fund was established in 1988 to promote the study of Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology. The fund is available for students who are enrolled in an approved Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology Program in the State of Indiana . The CICBF disbanded in 2002 and their funds were entrusted to the Indiana Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS-Indiana) for future scholarship distribution.

 

Four scholarship awards of $500.00 each will be made to eligible students for the academic year in which they are a student in good standing in an approved MT/MLT Program. Of the four scholarships, three will be awarded to MT students and one will be awarded to a MLT student.

 

ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY

 

Any student accepted into an approved MT/MLT program, who meets the requirements listed below may apply.

 

•  1.           Academic Achievement Scholarship: One scholarship will be awarded to a MT student each year. Those who apply must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 based

on a 4.0 scale, or a GPA of 5.75 based on a 6.0 scale. Academic achievement

is the only requirement for this scholarship. A transcript of all college work

completed must be submitted with the application.

 

•  2.           Financial Need/Academic Achievement Scholarship: Two scholarships will be

awarded to MT Students each year and one scholarship will be awarded to an

MLT Student each year. Those who apply must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

Based on a 4.0 scale (or a GPA of 5.0 – based on a 6.0 scale) and must also

demonstrate financial need as indicated below:

 

A. - Economically Disadvantaged: Awards may be made to economically

disadvantaged students, who without financial assistance might be

deprived of the opportunity of completing the professional Medical

Technology Program.

B. - Financial Crisis: Awards may be made to students who can demonstrate

that a precipitous change has occurred in their financial situation, e.g.,

parents out of work, loss of part-time job, medical or other emergency.

c. - A transcript of all college work completed must be submitted with the

application.
