America, though described as a land of opportunity, in the 1920’s this may have only been achieved if you were of certain genetic background. The revival of the Ku Klux Klan was brought on by frustration of white, middle-class, protestant men. They did not singularly despise one race, they disliked just about everyone, and this included Germans, Irish, Jewish, Catholics, and African-Americans. The Ku Klux Klan’s idea of Americanism was to keep America as “American” as possible. Rising up after World War one due to many undesired Europeans and other immigrants moving to America , which they described as the “infestation of aliens”.
