The nursing sector can largely benefit from the use of evidence-based practice in achieving its desired outcomes, which include improving patient outcomes as well as improving the quality of healthcare services (Melnyk, 2015). Evidence-based practice involves the use of the best research evidence to enable achievement of goals in a healthcare organization (Melnyk, 2015). The nursing profession involves nurse managers and nurse practitioners and all must integrate and implement evidence-based practices to achieve their organizational goals (Melnyk, 2015).
Nurse managers must provide nurse professionals with a suitable environment which allows the integration and implementation of evidence-based practices in the facility (Melnyk, 2015). The nurse managers can achieve this by providing support to the nurse practitioners to increase their understanding of the evidence-based practices and their application to different processes (Melnyk, 2015). For the nurse managers to ensure that the organizational goals are achieved since they are responsible and play a major role in the achievement of the goals, they must provide a comfortable environment, which will enable the nurse practitioners to fully integrate and implement the available evidence-based practice (Melnyk, 2015).

Nurse practitioners are responsible for the daily duties and services and mostly are involved with the application of the evidence-based practices, which are implemented during prevention, diagnosis, treatment processes, and support services (Melnyk, 2015). They have the best platform to apply the evidence-based practice. These practices determine the achievement of healthcare goals (Melnyk, 2015). When nurse practitioners integrate and implement evidence-based practices to their daily activities, the health care goals and objectives will improve. If nurse managers fail in their duties, this will impact the entire organization and so they must use the best evidence-based practice to provide a more effective care to their patients (Melnyk, 2015).
