The two sociologists that I will be discussing in this assignment are Emile Durkheim and C. Wright Mills. First, I will discuss Emile Durkheim, a French sociologist who heavily impacted the approach towards social problems. He studied the behaviours and problems of society to help determine why people do things such as committing suicide. Although Durkheim passed away just over 100 years ago his ideas and concepts of maintaining a functional society still remains as an important asset to other sociologists, many still rely on his concept to help construct and build their own and also to help emphasize the importance of consumerist rituals and how they impact our lives and relationships.
